New office, etc.

I've transferred to the brand-spanking-new office of the Open Academy for Philippine Agriculture. I'm still with PhilRice, just focusing on the Pinoy Farmers' Internet project. I'll be handling the portal. The portal design has gone through four revisions, and we're finally settling down on this one . I'll probably streamlining it since it loads slowly even on my DSL connection. Probably has something to do with the firewall problem we're having at the NOC. Oh, well. At least it's already up, with the initial offerings such as knowledge products, e-learning modules and diagnostic tools. There's still a long way to go, though, as we've barely touched on the thriving content that we will offer our clientele, the extension workers and farmers. If we go by the UN classification, we're still at Stage 2 -- web presence. In the coming months, we'll be deploying more content and more features. Lost and found

Well, what do you know? I was messing around with Google — again — when I stumbled upon my old Tripod site . It's one of my puny attempts at wordsmithing, back when angst was the norm. Reading them now makes me feel old. Heh, marriage and a precocious three-year-old bundle-of-energy have that effect. Makes me wonder, too, how we leave traces of ourselves here on the net. How pieces of us are lost — archived as bits on some humming hardware in a cold, cold vault somewhere — only to be found again by invoking a line of tech-mantra and pressing "Submit" to the oracle that is Google. Ah, this is just me, waxing nostalgic, and struggling through yet another boring uneventful day in the cube.
