Delicious linkroll, revised

Based on this comment in a previous blog post on rolling my own Delicious linkroll , I modified my code to sort the recent bookmarks alphabetically. I also added encoded URIs and escaped HTMLs to — hopefully — make the code XSS-safe. Here it is: Script available at Github Gist. I know, I should have used Delicious' version 2 of the JSON feeds and callbacks — will get to that soon. ;) For now, see the code at work here .

Wonderful timelapse photography

Straight from Gizmodo , here's a beautiful video of timelapse photography done on a Canon 5D Mark II, set to Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly". Enjoy. You might want to check another one, this time of the Tokyo skyline .

Chelsea vs Liverpool, 4-4

Awww. Sorry, Liverpool . I did not get to watch the match, but ESPN's live coverage was wonderful. They also provided nifty visualizations.

Tweenbots

Here's an interesting experiment : Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter. Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag, and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal. The results were insightful: the tiny robots successfully reached their destination through the help of complete strangers. No robot was lost nor damaged. I wonder how the Tweenbots would fare in, say, Quiapo or Cubao, or Rizal Park even.

Onset of summer

Well, not really — we're right in the middle of it already! The kids are at it: running all over the house, thrashing toys everywhere, consuming carbon like crazy running the air conditioner on high almost all day (and throughout the night). So they won't get (too) bored this summer (kuya Gab, specially), Peng and I lined up a few activities for them. Gab is having swimming lessons — he has great form, by the way (just like Tatay ;)). He just went through the McDonald's Kiddie Crew program, the top Kiddie Crew FTW! He will also be continuing his Taekwondo classes, and hopefully get blue belt before summer ends. Julian, on the other hand, is having a grand time as always. He sometimes accompanies kuya in his swimming lessons. We've set up the pool in the backyard so they can chill on weekends. View the rest of the set . We've also bought them art kits. The kids are all set. :) Hope we (the parents) are, too.

Fine time

So I couldn't watch the Eraserheads' final concert live or on TV. No worries, Web 2.0 to the rescue, courtesy of the mobile service provider that brought the band together for their "final set".
